The wool is washed using gentle methods and sun-dried for two to three days to retain natural lanolin and softness.

3. Carding & Spinning

Wool fibers are combed (carded) by hand to align them evenly. Artisans spin the wool into yarn on traditional wheels, ensuring proper thickness for the runner.

4. Dyeing of Wool Yarns

Colorfast dyes are used for strong orange and black tones. The dyed yarn is dried naturally in open air for uniformity.

5. Pattern Mapping

The design is first drafted manually on sheets, then transferred onto graph paper. This graph acts as the weaving guide during the entire process.

6. Weaving on Loom

Warp threads are stretched on the loom frame. Wool and jute wefts are interwoven meticulously, one row at a time, forming the runner’s bold geometric pattern. The weaving requires precise tension control and steady handwork.

7. Washing & Finishing

After weaving, the rug is given multiple washes to remove excess fibers. Edges are clipped, borders secured, and the runner is flattened for perfect alignment.

8. Final Inspection & Drying

The runner is laid under the sun for final drying, strengthening the fibers and setting the textures permanently. Each rug passes through inspection to ensure weaving purity and durability.
